Culinary Events High Above the City of Salzburg

THE Gersberg Alm

Every season at the Gersberg Alm has its own character – and our kitchen team brings this to life on your plate. On selected occasions, we create truly special culinary experiences: whether it’s a tribute to renowned wineries, the flavours of a particular season, or traditional festive occasions.

  • Traditional Goose Dinner

During the St Martin’s season, the Gersberg Alm gourmet kitchen is transformed for a whole week into a stage for one of the year’s oldest culinary traditions. At the Gersberg Alm restaurant, we’ll guide you through a multi-course meal – from a clear goose consommé, through the organic Innviertel goose as the centrepiece, to a sweet finale.

What elsewhere might be a single date in the calendar becomes, here, a week that takes its time.

  • Christmas Celebration at the Gersberg Alm

Even for those who aren’t staying with us, 24 December at Die Gersberg Alm has something special in store: a festive menu from Florian Dornstauder’s kitchen, enjoyed by candlelight, in the historic parlours and amidst the tranquillity that this evening deserves. Instead of cooking and clearing up yourself, simply take a seat – and treat yourself to this evening.

  • New Year’s Eve Kitchen Party

One year ends, another begins – and in between lies an evening where we take the time to pay fitting tribute to both. Under the theme of ‘Spain’, the Gersberg Alm is transformed into a venue for both a culinary journey and a celebration.

The evening begins in the winter outdoor dining area with mulled wine, roasted chestnuts and live music, before you are guided through the flavours of Spain at various cooking stations – a menu that unfolds not at the table, but as you wander. As the night draws on, the festivities move to the Almstüberl: desserts, a DJ and a lively finale will carry you past midnight, whilst outside the fireworks over Salzburg mark the turn of the year.
